Sixteen Option Spinner

What does the resource do?

This spinner will randomly select from one of sixteen options. You can press ‘New’ to reset and randomise the board whenever required.

How does it work?

On the opening screen, type the words that you would like to appear in the spinner. Copy and save these words in a text document if you think you’d like to use them again in the future. When you are ready, press ‘Next’ and your spinner will be generated.

This spinner is random but, once selected, each segment will disappear from the board.

How can I use it?

You could use the resource to randomly select pupils from your class… to display key words as part of a starter/plenary… as a motivational tool (names could be added to the list throughout the day and a ‘winner’ randomly selected).

Any other ideas? Add your feedback to the ‘Comments’ section.

This is great. Anyway to insert it into a powerpoint without having to re-paste lists in every time?

Awesome resources! Can’t wait to try them out. I really need the spinner to have numbers to 18, please. I hope you will consider that.

I am pleased that you like the resources Beth.

Creating an 18 option spinner could take a little time but I will see if this is something I am able to add to the site.

Thanks again for your feedback, David.

One way of using this is type the beginning of a sentence, like ‘How many’ and the student has to make a question with that beginning. 16 ways to start a sentence is a good activity for a warm up or something else.

Hi!
First of all, thank you for your hard work and the fantastic things you do to help us.
I like this spinner a lot but I would need it to have at least 23-25 numbers. Do you think that would be possible?

Hello Maria,

Thank you for your comment and for your kind words about the site.

I will try to find some time to work on the spinner – in the meantime, would this resource help: Selector

It is not a spinner, but it will randomly select from up to 32 options.

Hope this helps, David.
