Number Spinner [1 to 16]

Spinner - SixteenWhat does the resource do?

This spinner is numbered from 1 to 16.

The spinner is completely random. However, once a number has been selected, it is removed from the board.

When all numbers have been selected, the board is reset.

How does it work?

Press ‘Spin’ to start the spinner and select a number.

Comments

Why have the numbers delete as they are “found”. This does not help to teach randomness.

Thanks for your comment…

The aim of the resource is not solely to teach ‘randomness’. Teachers use it for lots of different reasons.

This spinner may be better suited to your needs: http://www.triptico.co.uk/?p=37

Hope this helps, David

I would love this if the spinner had more than 16 numbers. I assign my students numbers to help me keep their papers in order when I enter grades in the gradebook. I would use the spinner to randomly select kids (by their number) to read, answer questions, run an errand, etc.

Hello Karen – I am pleased that you are finding the resources to be useful.

In answer to your point, although it is not a ’spinner’, there is a selector on the site which you could use: Link to Triptico Selector.

Hope this helps,

David
